PALAZZO AVESANI

The Scalzi Hotel is located in the ancient Avesani Palace which stands on the remains of the church of San Giacomo di Galicia, deconsecrated in 1806 and bought at auction in 1829 by Bartolomeo Avesani.
Engineer and architect, during the Austrian domination he worked on the construction of the city walls and defensive structures.
The palace becomes his home and on the facade the Templar inscription "Non Nobis Domine Non Nobis Sed Tuo Nomini Gloriam Fac" is placed to mean that the palace was built not to appear or manifest one's wealth, but only to honor the glory of God.

The strategic position of Boutique Hotel Scalzi, between Piazza Bra with the Arena, and the Porta Nuova railway station, outside the restricted traffic area, prompted the Saccardi family, in 2006, to buy the Hotel located on the noble floor of the palace and to completely renovate it, as if it were your own home, in true Italian style.

Those who visit Verona for holidays, concerts and events, work or cultural tourism, can move easily on foot and reach the nearest cities by train: Mantua, Vicenza, Padua and Venice.

The owners personally manage the hotel together with a few collaborators, careful to satisfy your every need, available to chat and advise you, to spend a pleasant evening at the restaurant or visit some special place off the usual tourist routes.
